Hi, I'm Melissa, a designer, illustrator and art director based in East London.

I've spent the last ten years working in publishing, designing books for some of the UK's leading illustrated non-fiction publishers. I specialise in making complex ideas clear and engaging, and beautiful visual storytelling.

More recently I've been working with museums, heritage organisations and community groups on outreach materials and educational resources. I love the idea that great design can make information feel exciting and accessible to people who might not usually engage with it.

My work spans books, illustrated outreach booklets, exhibition graphics, interpretation panels, educational resources and community engagement materials. Whatever the brief, I want the end result to be contemporary, considered and a little bit playful. Good design in the public sphere is rarer than it should be, and I think that's worth doing something about!
